Prefolds are probably the most inexpensive method of cloth diapering that you can choose. The durable cotton holds up well with repeated washings. You can re-use the diaper covers as long as they are not soiled, so you won't have as many diapers to purchase (as with pocket dipaers or AIOs). When your baby has outgrown his/her prefold diapers, they can still be useful as cleaning or dusting rags! They also make great burp cloths and lap protectors, making them very versatile.
You may like to use a stay-dry liner with your prefold diapers to help keep your baby's bum dry. Fold your prefold diaper and fasten with a Snappi fastener. Or you may choose to simply tri-fold it, lay it in a diaper cover, and fasten the cover on your baby!
